In view of the fact that we appear to be in what can only be described as the twenty-first century and that this situation looks set to continue for the foreseeable future, it has been decided that the Club Ladder will be decided by entries to the BGA NAtional Ladder. All recorded flights for the club ladder must be entered on the BGA Ladder at
www.bgaladder.co.uk
HOW TO ADD YOUR FLIGHT TO THE LADDER
- Fly your task – the easy bit! (around BGA turn-points ideally)
- Within 14 days, enter your flight details from any computer with access to the internet
- If it’s the first time you have used the site, you will need to register with a logon name (your email address) and a password.
- Click Logon button if necessary to add your pilot details
- Pick Calculator, and enter your flight details
- Click the Calculate button to see how many points you’ve scored
- Click the Submit Button to add your flight to the database
- The confirm Claim Page appears. Fill in the additional information and pick Confirm.
- You’re done.
HOW TO SEE THE CURRENT STANDINGS
To see your current standing in the ladders, pick Ladders and/or Daily Scores
Note that you can set filters so you only see flights by MGC members.
Printouts will also be produced periodically and posted on the Club notice-boards and on this page.
THE BENEFITS
The benefits of this method over the current handwritten method I hope will be:
- We can maintain league tables continuously, promoting more interest in the ladders and more interest in cross –country flying at the club.
- You can see what is happening in the ladders from any computer in the World, rather than just the club notice-board.
- Others clubs will see that we fly cross-country too!
- A more transparent awarding of the annual trophies
